The Ram 1500 has some of the latest safety features on the market. With a new rear backup camera, lane departure warning system and brake assist system, drivers can feel safe knowing they are in control of their vehicle.
The Ram 1500 is equipped with a rear backup camera that can be activated at any time. When the vehicle is put into reverse, the backup camera will automatically turn on and display what is behind the truck on the multimedia center's touchscreen monitor. The system has guidelines to help drivers line up their parallel parking spaces without having to turn around or get out of the car.
Although it can be activated, the backup camera does not function when the vehicle is in four-wheel drive mode or if the transmission is in neutral. The backup camera will also shut off after 30 seconds, regardless of whether the truck is still in reverse.
The new Ram 1500 has added safety features to protect both the driver and passengers. A driver awareness system has been added to monitor blind spots on both sides of the truck, especially after the vehicle is put into reverse.
