Everyone's talking about the power and comfort that the Ram 1500 TRX provides, but have you ever wondered how its engine is able to provide 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque without melting?
Aside from being built to withstand the heat it generates, the TRX also has strategically placed air intake vents and heat extractors. About half of the air that the TRX breathes in comes through the front grille, and the other half is through the massive scoop built into the hood. This air is filtered up to four times more than the competition. This air then picks up the excess heat through the twin heat extractors on either side of the scoop and gets vented out.
This all comes together to create a remarkably cool engine, even if it does gulp up to 32.9 liters of air per minute.
